In October 2006, he was appointed as the Director General of the International Economic and Trade Relations Department of the Ministry of Commerce (during which he served as the Deputy Secretary General of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government and a member of the Party Group of the General Office from July 2007 to August 2008).
In December 2010, he was appointed as a member of the Party Group of the Ministry of Commerce.
In January 2011, he was appointed as the Assistant Minister and Member of the Party Group of the Ministry of Commerce.
In May 2013, he was appointed as the Deputy Representative (Deputy Minister level) and Member of the Party Group of the Ministry of Commerce for International Trade Negotiations.
