Yunnan

Yunnan Province, or Yunnan for short, is one of the 23 provinces in China. It is located in the southwest and the capital of Kunming. It is bounded between 21 ° 8 ′ - 29 ° 15 ′ N and 97 ° 31 ′ - 106 ° 11 ′ e. it is adjacent to Guizhou and Guangxi in the East, Sichuan in the north, Tibet in the northwest, Myanmar in the west, Laos and Vietnam in the south. The total area of Yunnan Province is 394100 square kilometers.

The terrain of Yunnan Province is high in the northwest and low in the southeast. It is in a step-by-step decline from the north to the south. It is a mountainous plateau terrain, accounting for 88.64% of the total area of Yunnan Province. The terrain is divided into two parts: Yuanjiang Valley and Yunling mountain south wide valley. The eastern part of Yunnan is the eastern and central Yunnan Plateau, which is an integral part of the Yunnan Guizhou Plateau. It is characterized by undulating and gentle low mountains and round hills. The western part is characterized by mountains and valleys alternating with each other, with steep terrain, forming a strange and magnificent mountain glacier landform. Yunnan Province covers six major water systems: the Yangtze River, the Pearl River, the Yuanjiang River, the Lancang River, the Nujiang River and the Daying river. The climate of Yunnan basically belongs to subtropical and tropical monsoon climate, and the northwest of Yunnan belongs to plateau mountain climate.

As of August 2019, Yunnan Province has jurisdiction over 8 prefecture level cities, 8 autonomous prefectures, 17 municipal districts, 16 county-level cities, 67 counties and 29 autonomous counties, totaling 129 county-level divisions. 177 streets, 683 towns, 400 townships, 140 ethnic townships, 1400 township level divisions in total.

In 2018, Yunnan has a permanent population of 48295000, with a GDP of 1788.112 billion yuan, the added value of the primary industry of 249.886 billion yuan, the added value of the secondary industry of 695.744 billion yuan, the added value of the tertiary industry of 842.482 billion yuan, and the per capita GDP of 37136 yuan
