Wei Sili (654-719) was born in Yangwu, Zhengzhou (now Yuanyang County, Henan Province). During the Tang Dynasty, the prime minister was the son of Wei Siqian.
Less Jinshi and as Shuangliu county magistrate, political achievements, moved to Laiwu county magistrate. He was appreciated by Empress Wu Zetian and became a scholar of Zhongshu. He successively served as a servant of Fengge, a Zhangshi of Tongping and a political adviser. He was implicated in the rebellion of the Weishu people and settled in Chenzhou.
In the seventh year of Kaiyuan, he died at the age of 66. He was awarded to the Minister of the Ministry of war with the posthumous title of filial piety.

His father, Wei Siqian, was a Jinshi. He was a senior official in Taizhong. At the beginning of Wei's reign, he was a Jinshi and a magistrate of Shuangliu County.
In the first year of Zhengsheng's reign, his brother Wei Chengqing gave up for Fengge. He left because of illness. He recommended Wei Sili, who was then the magistrate of Laiwu County, to give up for Fengge, which won the trust of Wu Zetian. During the reign of Chang'an, Empress Wu, he was worshipped as the Minister of Fengge. At that time, cruel officials were rampant and people were in danger. Dare to come forward and make a direct admonition. The idea of "invigorating the school and washing the waste" has not been adopted. Then he took Fengge as his minister and censored bianzhou as his governor. Because his brother Wei Chengqing is attached to Zhang Yi's brother. During the Dragon revolution, two Zhang were punished and demoted to Raozhou. During the reign of emperor Jinglong of the Tang Dynasty, he was the Minister of the Ministry of war. Wei Sili was born in Wannian (today's old city of Xi'an) with the same surname as empress Wei. He was once attached to empress Wei by imperial edict. Empress Wei was killed by Emperor Xuanzong in the face of political disorder. Wei Sili was implicated in this and moved to Chenzhou.
