Characters and deeds
When he first arrived in Huanggang, he was dressed in all kinds of clothes. His crown was worn and his shoes were worn. He worked as a clerk in a teahouse, chopping firewood, burning fire, carrying water and doing chores. He was very diligent. One day, when the wind blows and birds chirp, Lei Li takes a rest in front of Guandi temple. He uses melon skin to write down the four words "Yibu Chunqiu" on the blue stone board. At that time, the monks in the temple found that the characters on the stone board are powerful, rigorous, elegant and beautiful. They quickly drew the outline with ink, and carved stone tablets to stand in the temple. On the first day of mid spring, the owner of the teahouse asked him to visit the newly built "Dawang Temple". They walked up to the main hall, but there was no one. There were only four treasures of the study on the incense table and goose cooked on the stove. Lei Li loved goose most in his life, so he couldn't help being fettered by the smell of meat. The owner of the teahouse deliberately urged the general: "the meat is prepared for the people who write the inscriptions. As a teahouse man, don't touch it.". Lei Li is unruly in nature. He once pulled goose breast and ate wine: "isn't it just writing inscriptions? Look at me After a while, when he was drunk and full, he showed his paper and ink, and his pen was full of twists and turns. As soon as I finished writing the inscription, I suddenly came back to my senses and wanted to destroy it. The owner of the teahouse held his arm quickly. The Deacon came out and explained to him, "I heard that you wrote" a spring and Autumn Annals "in Guandi temple. It's a great master. I'm sure you're a famous one. Today, I'd like to invite you to write the inscription in a wrong way. It's not suitable for wanwang Haihan." It was in the lower right corner of the inscription that the four character inscription "Jian'an Lei Li" appeared. At this time, people knew the real name of this last gentleman and master calligrapher. Lei Li later wrote a plaque of "Jinshi" for Li family who won two Jinshi at the same time, which became a unique one in Shan county. He also handed down the three character plaque of "Sutra Pavilion" in Shan county, which is now treasured in Shan County Museum. in Fushan, Zongyang, Anhui Province, there are cliff inscriptions with Lei Li's inscription "Hutian bieye".
