Lei Jianfu, 1001-1067, was born in walei Village (now Leijiawa village, Chengguan Town, Heyang County), Yingyang (now Southeast of Heyang, Shaanxi Province). Filial piety is the first son. In 1042, Du Yanjian was appointed as xiaoshulang and Qinzhou observation judge. He is the great grandson of Leide.

In his early years, he lived in seclusion, served as the Secretary of the provincial school, acting as an observer judge of Qinzhou, and soon left to live in Chang'an. At that time, the Sanbai canal (the predecessor of Jinghui canal) in Guanzhong had been destroyed for a long time, and Jingzhao government recommended Jianfu to manage it. In the past, people in six counties worked for 40 days every year, using millions of trees, but the water was not enough; in the past, Jianfu worked for 30 days, the trees were reduced by two-thirds, but the water was more than enough. Later, he successively served as the magistrate of Fangzhou (now Huangling), Jianzhou (now Jianyang), Yazhou (now Ya'an), Guozhou and Tongzhou, and was promoted to the Minister of the Ministry of letters.

When Jianfu was in Yazhou, he met Su Xun in Meishan and read Su Xun's Hong Fan Lun. They hate to see each other late. Su Laoquan (i.e. Su Xun) and his two sons Su Shi and Su Zhe paid a visit to Jianfu to teach him. Jianfu then sent letters to Zhang Fangping, the old friend of Yizhou, ou Yangxiu, Han Qi and others, recommending the "three Su" father and son to make them stand out. He was good at calligraphy. On the way to Yazhou, he went through Hanzhong Prefecture, and the imperial court paid money to build the qingniling section of the ancient Shu Road. He ordered to record this grand event, so he wrote an article and wrote a tablet of "new building of Baishui road" and also wrote "Jiangsheng tie".
