Lei Si Pei was a member of Ding you's imperial examination in 1597. Four years later, he became a Jinshi of Xin Chou's section and went to the Imperial Academy to review. He is good at reciting poems, visiting scenic spots and writing scenery. He not only echoed Yuan Hongdao's poetic theory of Gong'an School, but also advocated that writing should express the true feelings of the individual of the time. He opposed the saying that "literature must be in Qin and Han Dynasties and poetry must be in Tang Dynasty". He is the author of the collection of works of bainage and the book of Fangyu in Jingzhou.
