Kunming Vocational College of art is an ordinary college which is approved by Yunnan Provincial People's government and put on record by the Ministry of education. It implements college degree education. Its predecessor is Nie'Er music school. The college is located on the shore of Dianchi Lake. The campus covers an area of more than 200 mu, with a construction area of more than 70000 square meters, beautiful environment and complete facilities. At present, there are Nier Conservatory of music, School of design and media, dance, applied foreign languages and other departments, with more than 3000 students from more than 30 nationalities in 25 provinces and autonomous regions.

The college has gathered a group of well-known experts and scholars at home and abroad, as well as "double qualified" young and middle-aged backbone teachers.
