Wormseed Wallflower
(commonly used Chinese herbal medicine in Tibet)
[synonym] gontoba (Tibetan name).
[source] it is the seed of Brassica oleracea.
[plant morphology] Tangjie
Perennial herbs, 30-60 cm high. Stem erect, angulate, whole plant covered with forked pubescence. Leaves alternate, lanceolate, entire, shortly stipitate. Raceme terminal; flowers larger, yellow; petals 4; sepals 4; central and lateral filaments base with honey pus. Fruit long horned, angular, with seeds in 1 row.
Sandy land and sunny hillside. Distributed in Tibet and other places.
[collection] mature fruits were harvested from August to September. Dry in the sun and lay the seeds.
[chemical constituents] the seed contains glucosinolate. Glucosinolates were isolated from the whole plant.
[pharmacological action] ① glucosinolate is a diglycoside, which has cardiotonic effect on ECG.
The biological activity of the drug was 1-100 g / kg, which was lower than that of the drug given intravenously in cats. The volume in four days is 8%. It can improve the coronary circulation disorder and myocardial metabolism caused by pituitrin and thrombin. It can increase the urine volume by 1.3-1.5 times. It can inhibit the ATPase necessary for cation transport in vitro.
② Glucosinolates are also cardiotonic in ECG. It can make the systolic amplitude of cat heart increase 2-3 times than normal, slow down the heart rate, and finally stop in systole. After vagotomy or injection of atropine, its effect was weakened, so it not only had direct effect on the heart, but also had central effect. Glucosinolates have a temporary pressor effect (central) on anesthetized cats. On the ear specimens of rabbits with nerve connection, a small amount of blood vessels dilated, a large amount contracted, and the effect disappeared after sympathectomy, so it was also central. Glucosinolates had no effect on the coronary vessels of isolated cat hearts at low concentration, but caused them to contract at high concentration. It increases pulmonary circulation. It has sedative effect on cats and diuretic effect on mice.
Glucosinolates are very unstable to acids and bases and are easy to be destroyed in gastrointestinal tract. It has no accumulation and can eliminate 90% of the dosage in four days. Its biological activity is 57000-60000 pigeon units per gram; the lethal dose of cat is 0.09 mg / kg, which is higher than that of helianthin (0.128 mg / kg) and cannabinoid (0.16 mg / kg); in chronic test, its toxicity is lower. According to the ratio coefficient between cat unit and frog unit, glucosinolate is more sensitive to warm blooded animals. In rabbits with acute coronary blood flow disorder (ligation of left descending coronary artery), it can strengthen cardiac contraction, increase myocardial oxygen uptake, and have therapeutic effect on arrhythmia and ECG changes. The therapeutic effect on experimental myocardial infarction is better than that of helianthin K.
[nature and taste] common Chinese herbal medicine in Tibet: "cold in nature, sweet and astringent in taste. "
Functions and indications: common Chinese herbal medicine in Tibet: "clearing blood heat, relieving cough and strengthening heart. It can cure deficiency tuberculosis, fever, pulmonary tuberculosis, cough, chronic disease, and lack of heart power. "
[usage and dosage] oral administration: decoction, 1-3 yuan.
